supporting UCB's U.S. Rare disease business unit

As U.S. Communication lead for Rare Diseases, you will lead internal and external communications in support of the U.S. Rare disease business unit. In close collaboration with the U.S. Rare team and corporate communications, the lead will develop and execute strategic internal communications to enable effective ways of working within U.S. Rare and its stakeholders. Additionally, this role will drive U.S. external communications for UCB's Rare disease portfolio and pipeline in collaboration with global communicators. Initial priorities will be growing UCB's reputation in specific rare diseases and preparing to launch two assets. To deliver, the lead will collaborate across UCB and corporate communications core functions (digital, internal, external, community engagement, public affairs, and neurology and immunology) to ensure alignment and successful engagement of key audiences.

In this role you will:

  • Grow UCB's reputation in specific rare diseases and preparing to launch two assets
  • Lead internal and external communications for rare diseases in the U.S.
  • Work closely with executive-level stakeholders with U.S. Rare Diseases leadership team
  • Develop and executing strategic internal communications to enable effective ways of working within U.S. Rare disease and its stakeholders
  • Drive U.S. external communications for UCB's Rare disease portfolio and pipeline in collaboration with global communicators
  • Collaborate across communications core functions (digital, internal, external, community engagement, public affairs, and neurology and immunology) as well as with other global and local stakeholders

You will contribute by (not limited to):

  • Leading development and implementation of U.S. Rare Business Unit communications strategy aligned to the U.S. communications strategy
  • Providing counsel to internal stakeholders by identifying potential issues or opportunities related to U.S. Rare with actions
  • Enhancing UCB's reputation in rare diseases and myasthenia gravis through effective public relations strategies and tactics for both disease awareness and future U.S. products/indications
  • Developing effective U.S. launch communication strategies and tactics for future assets
  • Ensuring connectivity between external and internal communications Head
  • Enabling consistent broad to specific communications in U.S. Rare across disease/functional areas
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (globally and locally) to develop and drive key messages and enable our Patient Value Strategy
  • Writing content for internal and external channels related to a rare disease, thought leadership, and patient value
  • Managing relationships with vendors and creative agencies to support U.S. Rare

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical Brand Communications or PR, and related fields
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Agency or corporate in-house experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in internal communications
  • Master's degree
