Job Description

A Human Factors Designer will develop CAD modeling into presentational views, review compartment arrangements for human factors criteria, and prepare CDRL documentation.

The Human Factors Designer will have working knowledge of USCG, US Navy, ABS, SOLAS and government shipbuilding standards, the ability to understand functional ship design drawings along with the ability to identify issues that can be resolved to improve safety and comfort. Position will also include inspecting, evaluating, and review ship design, in 3D as well as shipboard, to ensure that systems meet human factors criteria in meeting contract requirements.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of one (1) year of marine/shipyard experience in addition to three (3) years of CAD operating experience with 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, Solidworks, and/or NavisWorks. Must also have basic working knowledge of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Suite, Adobe, etc.)

Experience with the following ASTM standards: F1166, F1337, Mil-Std-882 and Mil-Std-1472G a plus.
