Position Highlights:

Raleigh is expanding and so are we. Stewart's Civil Engineering practice is seeking a talented Project Manager to join our team in Downtown Raleigh. In this exciting role, you will join a highly collaborative team of leaders, set on building momentum in this market. Your work will include complex land development, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, stormwater, site planning, and permitting for new development projects all across NC. The type and size of projects will vary and will include higher education, healthcare, retail/commercial, and residential projects. You won't be stuck behind a desk all day either; you'll meet clients to hone your business development skills and meet with contractors to implement your creative designs. Our highly skilled and innovative team of professional engineers, planners, and landscape architects are ready to welcome you into a role that will expand and diversify your portfolio and develop your leadership skills, all in a collaborative work environment.

Position Responsibilities:

* You can manage and execute a project from beginning to end, while remaining profitable, on-schedule, and within budget constraints.

* You can respectfully collaborate with Studio Leader, client, and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timeline. Additionally, monitor utilization rates, labor summaries, and coordinate scope and pricing changes.

* You can, with trust and humility, lead a design team of engineers, landscape architects and technicians, coordinating with the client and other design professionals, and taking the projects through municipal and other jurisdictional approvals.

* You strive for excellence and have strong design skills at all levels of engineering including site planning and design, utility coordination and design, and stormwater management engineering.

* You have extensive experience working on commercial, residential, campus, and/or urban projects.

* You have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, used to directly supervise staff for assigned projects, in addition to engaging in marketing, business development, building lasting relationships with clients.

Position Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree required; Master's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.

* North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.

* 10 years relevant civil engineering and design experience.

* Advanced knowledge of civil engineering design requirements and principals.

* Advanced computer skills in AutoCad, Civil 3D, Microsoft, and Stormwater Modeling programs.

* Exercise good judgment: consider the relative costs and benefits of alternative solutions to choose the most appropriate one.

* Valid Driver's License required as some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.

* Willingness to perform work after regular business hours, on weekends and sometimes on holidays when necessary to meet project deadlines.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to work in a professional, climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels and exposure to lots of light, both natural and artificial. Workstations are in an open space layout with frequent collaboration and interactions from co-workers throughout the day. Within the office you are willing and able to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Additional requirements include providing on-site technical assistance by occasionally accessing client or construction sites with varying terrain.
