Position: Manual Machinist
Shift: Days
Location: Alabaster, AL
Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00/hr depending on experience and math skills test results.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Manual Machinist will operate manual machining.
JOB DUTIES:
- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, and machining parameters.
- Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Operates overhead cranes/crane hoists to move materials.
- Will operate manual machines such as: lathes, mills, drill presses, saw, and other manual machines as needed.
- Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications, using square, mic, and measuring equipment.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Works well with others by showing mutual respect and consideration.
- Takes pride in work produced and exhibits a professional attitude.
- Performs additional duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have at least 3-5 years of experience as a Manual Machinist.
- One year of blueprint reading required.
- Must pass a math test (basic math, geometry, and trigonometry).
- Must have basic machinist tools, other tools will be provided by the company.
- Demonstrated ability to modify material by drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, and threading material into parts and holding tolerances to specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to perform simple computer operations, such as clocking in or out of work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to stand/walk 95% of the workday
- Lift 60-80 lbs
- Twist, reach and bend frequently
- Carry up to 60 pounds occasionally
- Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine)
- Possess depth perception and peripheral vision
- Possess the ability to hear
- Subject to standing on hard surfaces up to 12 hours per day
- Be able to work in any environment (hot, cold, dusty, dirty, etc.)

- $150 2 weeks employed*
- $350 6 months employed**
- $500 12 months employed**
*Requires zero (0) tardies or unexcused absences allowed during this time period.
** Associate must not receive any progressive discipline per the Employee Handbook.
